Fernando Torres “Stable And Conscious” After Head Injury

Atletico Madrid striker, Fernando Torres, is in a “stable and conscious” condition in hospital, after suffering a head injury in their La Liga game against Deportivo La Coruna Thursday night.
The Spaniard appeared to have been knocked unconscious, after a sickening clash of heads with Alex Bergantinos. Torres hit the ground with a big force after the aerial challenge.
Atleti players immediately rushed over to check on Torres, amid fears he may have swallowed his tongue. Some of them were in tears, as manager Diego protested to officials from touchline.
He was eventually stretchered off in a neck brace and taken to a nearby hospital.
The club has confirmed he was in a stable condition and had already undergone scans on his skull and spine. The statement added that Torres had not suffered any “alterations nor traumatic injuries”.
A tweet appeared on the player’s Twitter page late in the night, which read: “It was just a scare. I hope to return very soon!”
