Antonio Conte Hits Back At Jose Mourinho Over Their Touchline Beef
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has insisted he will not send messages to Jose Mourinho following their altercation during Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat at the Stamford Bridge.
The Italian boss was involved in a touchline row with Jose Mourinho during the game after Antonio Valencia clashed into Marco Alonso during the first 45 minutes of the encounter, and the fourth official had to come in between them.
After the match, Antonio Conte revealed he will not bother to send a message to Mourinho after the match, insisting he did everything for the love of the club and his players.
He told Fox sports Italia: ‘I don’t have to send any message to anyone,
‘I am the Chelsea manager and do everything for Chelsea. My players exist, that is all. What happens off the pitch just makes us smile.
‘We played with intensity, with the desire to play football, only allowed them one opportunity due to our defensive distraction.’
Having crash out of the FA Cup, United will now focus on doing well in the Europa League and getting a top-four spot in the Premier League. They welcome Rostov to the Old Trafford on Thursday and will hope to qualify to the quarterfinals of the Europa League after securing an away goal advantage in their 1-1 draw in the first leg of the fixture.
