29-year-old docked for alleged N55,000 generator part theft


  A 29-year-old man, Mumuni Raji, who allegedly stole a  generator part valued at N55,000, was on Tuesday arraigned before Senior Magistrate S. O. Banwo, sitting in Ota, Ogun. Rani, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 3 at about 11.30 a.m. along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Ota.
According to Gbesi, the accused stole a generator injector valued at N55,000 belonging to Fidson HealthCare Plc, an offence which violated Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Banwo directed that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and also produce an evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned to March 30 for hearing.
